I was mostly trying to just convey the sheer volume of flowers on my back porch, and keeping a short depth of field seemed to be a better approach here. That one big blossom in the back left is suggestive enough for the viewer to know what it is, but so out of focus that (I hope) it’s not the first thing that viewer latches on to.
I wonder about the composition. Why did you include the out-of-focus blossom?

I’ll add that I don’t think that this is a completely successful photo, Doris, and the composition might be a big part of why.
